From yesterday to today
In 1969 the plant "Nachrichtenelektronik Greifswald (NEG)" (Telecommunications Electronics Greifswald)
was founded on the site of today's ml&s. Around 2600 staff developed and manufactured
telecommunications equipment and nautical electronics until 1991.
In 1991 Siemens AG took over the former GDR enterprise and integrated it into its Information and Communication Networks (ICN) group in 1993. The range of products was changed. The Greifswald Siemens site specialized in developing and manufacturing access networks equipment for telephony and data transfer together with the relevant service. Siemens succeeded in making the former VEB ("people's enterprise") fit for the world market, ensuring its survival. More than 10 million subscribers all over the world telephone with the help of equipment produced in Greifswald.
In 2002 the manufacturing side of Siemens on the site became independent and, since 1st October, offers a complete range of services for the electronics industry. From PCB assembly to the manufacture and configuration of complex systems: we will deal with your orders competently and precisely.
